As New Year's Eve of 1999 approaches, a woman named Angela (Ann-Margret) dreads the inevitable moment that her longtime boyfriend Nick (James Read) intends to propose marriage. Not only is Angela pathologically incapable of making a commitment, but she also is unable to let go of her painful past.
