Great Remake

Written August 06, 2012
The new Total Recall is a tremendous remake of a classic flick. All the primary actors turn in stellar performances. Kate Beckinsale is the meanest, sexiest bad girl of recent memory. I enjoyed every minute of this great movie. A Total must see!

Total Recall

I really liked it. Plenty of sensless violence with eye candy. Complex plot. Not enough gratuitous sex - but not neccessary for the movie to be good. Very good special effects, but I think the car chase scene is overrated.

What in the world did I just watch?!?

I may have had a slightly worse day than normal, but that is beside the point. I can't believe I just lost two hours of my life during this mind-numbing, plotless, sham of an 'action' film. I know it has been out for several weeks now, but my husband, myself, and I think two other people watched to the very end of this horrible project of a 'film.' Three people got up and left in the middle of the movie, I'm figuring to take their nap somewhere else. I never liked remakes anyway...

Totally Unphased

Big budget action, incredible effects and a good cast can't save this movie. Why you ask? It simply takes itself far too seriously. Don't get me wrong, I will admit I am generally no fan of Colin Farrell. He does a decent job. Kate Beckinsale steals the movie as a raging, tactically efficient combat b*tch (had she performed like this in Underworld series we'd all be better off). Jessica Biel is meh. I digress. The biggest pain of the movie is that it never pauses for a simple laugh or joke. The characters never stop even for a split-second to acknowledge how weird it was that they just had a shootout in zero gravity, or narrowly escaped death for the 15th time. It just keeps pushing the pace, and it's simply not good enough to do that.
