Renaissance man Toledo -- a performer who deftly juggled roles as a soul singer, choreographer, actor, jazz musician, and poet -- grew up in the City of Angels and hit the dance floor at the age of 15. In seemingly no time at all, he established himself as a much-sought-after professional dancer and commenced a lengthy series of collaborations, as a dancer and choreographer, with musicians including Paula Abdul, George Michael, Toni Braxton, Sammy Davis, Jr., Marvin Gaye, and scores of others. In the mean time, Toledo also explored Los Angeles' underground poetry scene and both performed his own poetry and ad-libbed with artists including Macy Gray and Angelo Fishbone, then founded a successful one-man production in the Los Angeles area, christened "The Toledo Show." In 2008, Toledo accepted one of his first big screen roles, as the bluesy, poetic narrator of Rachel Samuels' ambitious noir pastiche Dark Streets (2008). ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide
