Yes the special effects were great (particularly when viewed in 3-D IMAX) and there was tons of action and awesome sound--but what I enjoyed the most about Thor was that there was actually great acting, editing, storytelling. Script provided character development, Shakespearean themes, and an interesting plot. Also, several laugh-out-loud moments. Good comic timing by Natalie, Chris, and the girlf who pllayed Darcy. Whoever she is--she is going to move up towards B list rank. Won't be suprised if she starts getting main or steady support actress roles. She was a hoot. Much of the dialogue was snappy and almost seemed impromptu. THe movie "winked" at itself Chris is a great actor! Will be a huge star after this . PPlus, he is just smokin' HOT!! He had amazing chemistry with Natalie and the actor who played Loki. I like that Loki was not complete black and white--but tortured. Good themes of humility, honor, courage, etc. Plus, great little homage moments and for-tellin

Not a bad movie, but not the best either. Lets put it this way, the Oscar nominations won't be piling up. There were some humorous parts, and the visuals were quite nice, but I thought the casting was sub-par. Anthony Hopkins......outstanding as usual, given his part, but Thor's cohorts were a little corny and although she is nice to look at, Natalie Portman was not needed in this movie.

The movie wasn't worth the $11.25 admission. Storyline was terrible, acting was horrible the only good thing was the graphics. Wait for the blu-ray

going into this movie...i wasn't sure what to expect...but overall it was good. It took time to develop the story...but once it got going it wasn't too bad. The only problem....not enough fighting...wanted to see more action scenes. Movie was good.... My wife and I watched it together and she enjoyed it.

Thor is decent

Thior is a decent movie. There are times when you don't know exactly what is going on, but it is fairly easy to follow the storyline. However, I left the theater feeling that while it was a "good" movie, it wasn't a "great" movie. Nice use of humor, but somehow the characters didn't just gell together. If you're a Marvel comic book fan, it's a "must-see" movie. I saw it for that very reason. While I can't put my finger on exactly what was unsatisfactory about the movie, it is still a decent movie. I think we'll have a nice summer ahead for good movies this year.
