Entertaining and fun, not great

Fairly fast moving, decent amount of action. Good popcorn movie and I definitely enjoyed it but didn't think it all that great of a movie. Didn't really build to a point of caring about any of the characters all that much just seemed like a vehicle to get from one special effects scene to the next (and those were pretty well done).

Fantastic movie. Loved the way the relationships were explored. Not just the romance, but between Loki, Thor, mother, father, friends, etc. Great mix of humor, suspense, action, dialog. There were some definite cheesy moments, and a couple fight scenes where I wasn't sure if I was watching Star Wars or Thor, but overall loved it. This was the first movie where I actually felt compassion for Loki, even to the point of rooting for him. Plenty of depth, and so much attention to detail. I'll be thinking on this one for days. I rarely enjoy re-watching films, but could have turned right back around and watched this one again.

good solid movie. The visuals were awesome and the story was pretty good. You need to see the first one though to understand a lot of the undertone

Didn't live up to my expectations

I'm a huge Marvel fan, particularly of Thor and Loki. However, my anticipation for the film was useless. Horrible pacing, video game-quality CGI, too much time spent with obnoxious and pointless characters (Darcy, Ian, and Selvig were hopeless), wooden acting from Natalie Portman, emotional/dramatic scenes were replaced with "humor" within two to five minutes, making it so that the characters didn't have proper time to react...it was a mess. The only bright spot in The Dark World was the relationship I came to see - brothers Thor and Loki. The scenes with these two, however, did not last long enough. Hopefully Marvel keeps these two around for a third outing for Thor, but ditches Jane and the rest of Midgard.
