This movie is the brainchild of pot-smoking writers. Certainly there were several funny moments, I'll give the writers that much. The flood of star-value was also an added bonus. But the crude over-the-top lame jokes with highly predictable punchlines shows a severe decline in overall intelligence in terms of the ability to write good thought-out comedy. Sorry Seth Rogen, try again - this time stay sober while writing.
The acting was the only salvageable part of the movie, but there is only so much the actors could do with this script. Emma Watson had a quality part and Danny McBride was as good as he can be as an actor. Jonah Hill also had a couple of noteworthy moments. Channing Tatum had a fantastic cameo. The computer generated imagery was good, and appropriate for an apocalyptic flavor of the movie.
The movie is definitely not for kids, it has adult language, adult situations, and scenes that can frighten little ones.
My Judgment: Rated NW-11 (Not Worth $11).

This was funny from start to finish with so many one liners that I'm going to have to see it a second time just to catch every one. Some lines had people in theatre laughing so hard that I missed a good 10 seconds of dialogue.
And the scenes with Franco and McBride discussing a magazine & Michael Sera in the bathroom are too funny for film.
I am going to see this one again. I was not a big fan of Pineapple Express and the other "buddy" comedies from this group but This Is The End is spot on.

Definitely an enjoyable movie and nice that it's outside of the box. Some surprising elements and good twists. Love that the actors played themselves and into their weaknesses.

I dreamt about the monsters chasing me and a group of friends. It was awesome but I didn't get to sacrifice myself for my friends. :(
