Dug to the bottom, but no pony.

Had the basis of a good story, but buried it under a blizzard of unnecessary profanity. Several people walked out. I stayed, hoping that under all that crap would be a pony, but no, just crap.

One of the worst movies I have ever seen!

It is very seldom that I have walked out of a movie, but I came very close to doing just that after watching this HORRIBLE film. I expected it to be light-hearted and funny. Instead it was boring and depressing with a non-existent story line that made no sense and went no where. The best part of the whole movie was about 2 minutes that were dedicated to a small role that Melissa McCarthy had. She was hysterical, the rest was just DUMB! Save your $10 and spend it on a decent movie!

This is Not 40 for Me

Mildly entertaining in some parts, but supremely annoying in others. Paul Rudd plays the mambie pambie son to a loser mooch of a dad. Leslie Mann is barely likable, and together, she and Rudd are dishonest with each other, which makes for a really unappealing plot. The daughters in the movie provide many of the funniest moments, but the older one winds up making me want to smack her smart mouth.

As someone who loves a great comedy and a movie that is aimed right squarely at my demographic - middle age, young family - I thought this was awful. It wasn't funny - save for a few good lines - it was patronizing (enough Apple product envy, omg!), and the family, by and large just wasn't likable. Hence the reason why I thought the ending was implausible. I lterally felt like I wasted two long long long long hours watching this movie.

Fabulous movie if you're in this lifestage

Very hilarious and a bonding marital movie for my hubby and me. The take away for us was that we were not so different than others in our lifestage--the stereotypes were so dead on that we were a bit uncomfortable (ie. sitting on the toilet playing Scrabble on his phone). We laughed so hard and will recommend to our friends in their 40's with kids. I do wish the F-bombs and cursing would have been used less frequently. It was excessive and had no humor because of the overuse. Great life-stage movie!
