As someone who loves a great comedy and a movie that is aimed right squarely at my demographic - middle age, young family - I thought this was awful. It wasn't funny - save for a few good lines - it was patronizing (enough Apple product envy, omg!), and the family, by and large just wasn't likable. Hence the reason why I thought the ending was implausible. I lterally felt like I wasted two long long long long hours watching this movie.

we laughed throughout the movie, we enjoyed it, a bit long so make plenty of time with all the previews and stuff, but overall, enjoyed the movie and all of the adult type jokes, not a movie to take your kids to

I laughed so hard at time I had tears running down my face. It is a great Married Couple movie. Make it a date night and you will be talking about it during the ride home.

Apatow does his thing again! He makes a comedy out of an introspective story about real people. If you are married and in your 40s, or even close to it, you will probably get more of a snapshot of your life than laughs. It was funny at times, but not drop dead funny. Melissa McCarthy was hilarious as always though. The good part was that Rudd and Mann give believable performances as the married couple from KNOCKED-UP that are still trying to figure themselves out in this phase of life - with kids, mortgages, careers and sex. The problems they had were things an audience could connect to.They could have cut 10 minutes off the film to move it along quicker though. Still, I enjoyed the ups and downs, and the reconciliations the characters had to go through. It may not hit the funny bone like you thought walking in, but it will make you feel something walking out. Don't miss the outtakes. Geek Soul Brother gives this film 3 out of 5 Cosmic Afros. We have waited a month for this movie to come into theatres. Loved similar films - Knocked Up, etc. Unfortunately, little time spent on the humor of married life in your 40s and more time spent on their depressing and sometimes bizarre family scenarios (really a house THAT well decorated and they can't afford the house?).
Expected so much more...disappointed.
