While this movie may not be enjoyable for single 20 somethings, if you are married with kids you'll love this movie. The script and acting were spot on.

A Clear Picture of Life at 40, with the Pleasures and ManyPains that comes with It.

Apatow does his thing again! He makes a comedy out of an introspective story about real people. If you are married and in your 40s, or even close to it, you will probably get more of a snapshot of your life than laughs. It was funny at times, but not drop dead funny. Melissa McCarthy was hilarious as always though. The good part was that Rudd and Mann give believable performances as the married couple from KNOCKED-UP that are still trying to figure themselves out in this phase of life - with kids, mortgages, careers and sex. The problems they had were things an audience could connect to.They could have cut 10 minutes off the film to move it along quicker though. Still, I enjoyed the ups and downs, and the reconciliations the characters had to go through. It may not hit the funny bone like you thought walking in, but it will make you feel something walking out. Don't miss the outtakes. Geek Soul Brother gives this film 3 out of 5 Cosmic Afros. I was really disappointed with this movie. I guess I expected a smart, mature comedy and this movie did not live up to those expectations. The funny scenes were all in the trailer!

I liked this couple from Knocked Up, so I was real happy to see this movie begin to be promoted a month or two ago. The topper for me was seeing Chris O'Dowd (from The IT Crowd). I think that Apatow missed a huge one-liner opportunity with Chris since there was so much technology/computer-centric things in the film. There were quite a few instances where someone could have had a problem with a laptop/computer and Chris would have said "Have you tried turning it off and then on again?" and it would have had me rolling on the floor! Even if it were just part of the bloopers during the credits at the end. In any case, there are enough really funny scenes that every couple who's been together awhile and in their 40's can relate to and giggle about.
