This wasnt quite the same as Knocked up. I mean, it wasnt as graphic as knocked up. BUt it still delivered in my opinion. I honestly, thought it could have been a little funnier. But it was good. Funniest part of the film was when Paul Rudd had his legs up taking a pic. The movie did seem a little choppy. But overall, i still thought it was a good film. Dont take the kids. Definately not for them.

We have waited a month for this movie to come into theatres. Loved similar films - Knocked Up, etc. Unfortunately, little time spent on the humor of married life in your 40s and more time spent on their depressing and sometimes bizarre family scenarios (really a house THAT well decorated and they can't afford the house?).
Expected so much more...disappointed.

It was funny and I need a good laugh - but also has a serious edge which I also enjoyed. Stay for the end credits for an extra chuckle.

"This is 40" has a great cast and lots of one-liners and after 20, then 30, then 40 minutes of no plot development, we had a growing sens of unease that this movie was going nowhere slowly (2:20 of slow). And that is exactly what it did until we walked out. As for friends who went with us but sat elsewhere in the theatre, they were grumpy we didn't tell them we were walking out as they would have joined us – and demanded their money back. Bottom line: Boring. Plotless. Joyless.
Director Apatow edited the January Vanity Fair issue (which is brilliant). This is not brilliant. This is an awkward comedy that misses its mark the way a lot of SNL comedies are "amusing" but not actually funny.

Some parts from the trailer didn't make it to the film which is always a little disappointing also my boyfriend found this movie to be depressing and boring but I thought it was pretty good. A few lol moments mostly sad honest real life downer stuff that didn't really make you feel good.
