This was a pleasant surprise as the story is literally read by an author to a full audience. It starts about mid-way through then goes back to fill you in on the history of the struggling young writer then of the unknown author. It the age old story of right and wrong but takes it a step further by letting the moviegoer wonder what happens. I did think it was going to be a little more suspenseful but the movie is more cerebral than your typical suspense/drama. The actors all did a great job in making each character believable, especially Jeremy Irons who deserves more credit than he gets. Bradley Cooper is shedding the "Phil" persona we have come to know over the years. If you keep in mind the movie is a book about a book, and it has a deeper meaning than just plagarism, you'll like this movie

This move was a total waste of about 2 hours of my life. I wanted to go ask for my money back. It starts off pretty slow and then it never picks up. And then before you know it the movie just dies and it’s over. If you like really vague pointless movies then it is perfect for you. Otherwise take my advice don't waste your time.

Great concept - story within a story within a story. Poorly executed by Bradley Cooper. Jeremy Irons is awesome as usual but can't carry the film. Wait for the DVD and watch it if you don't have any other options.

The preview and overview made it sound like so much more. Marquee actors in a poor movie. 90 minutes I will never get back.
Previews almost made it appear as a time traveling majestic mystery. Nothing of the such, a spineless main character gets lead into making a mistake - and we wrap a movie around it.

I would have liked if the stroy line was more detailed than it was and the ending to have been more clearer and thought out. I did not really understand too much of the events that took place. It was an okay movie to watch but less than what I expected.
