Wait for it at home

An interesting move to watch at home, if you have nothing else to do. Not worth the $$s in the theater. Too bad, I really wanted it to work. Someone I was with ... who is a BIG movie fan, said when it abruptly ends... "that's it". Read the Variety review if you want more info. - [BLOCKED WEBSITE]

Really super movie. If you like fast-paced action-type movies, this movie is probably not for you. At times it moves rather slowly but not so that it's boring. Great storyline and concept and loved the way it moved back and forth in time with intriguing storylines in each. Super acting and riveting as far as wondering what was going to happen next. Enjoyed it very much.

If you enjoy endings that leave you guessing or saying "WHAT??" out loud, then this one you should see. Otherwise, don't waste your time. The story itself was a very moving story but the ending completely ruined it. There wasn't an ending. It just ended with a giant THUD. It actually made us annoyed knowing we sat through the whole thing with all these great actors but the ending was terrible. Maybe see it on DVD.. if you want to. Otherwise, pass all together.

Finally a good movie! Hope you don't have someone who likes to talk sitting around you because you have to listen. It leaves you thinking about long after it's over. Would like to see it again!

A solid movie about consequences

This was a pleasant surprise as the story is literally read by an author to a full audience. It starts about mid-way through then goes back to fill you in on the history of the struggling young writer then of the unknown author. It the age old story of right and wrong but takes it a step further by letting the moviegoer wonder what happens. I did think it was going to be a little more suspenseful but the movie is more cerebral than your typical suspense/drama. The actors all did a great job in making each character believable, especially Jeremy Irons who deserves more credit than he gets. Bradley Cooper is shedding the "Phil" persona we have come to know over the years. If you keep in mind the movie is a book about a book, and it has a deeper meaning than just plagarism, you'll like this movie
