Sex and the City 2
The same setup, the same plot, and the same audience. If you liked one, you'll like the other.
Tell me if this sounds familiar: A close group of friends help each other deal with the trials and tribulations of womenhood while trying to hold on to their friendship. Oh, and one of their group has split up with their man. And there's an affair. Don't forget the seemingly vapid friend that can't let men too close. But this movie is different. It has a token *******!
The movie isn't bad. The characters all do their parts well, and there seem to be some genuine feelings of friendship there. That doesn't save the movie from its cringe-worthy bits. Like the lead's daughter. With her marriage collapsing, she grows more distant, and the daughter... Skips school? Starts wearing trashy makeup? Sneaks a change of clothes out in a bookbag? Starts smoking, worries about weight even though she's already a rail, and asks about sex at the age of, what, twelve? CHECK. And all in one absurd minute.
