Possibly Miyazaki's Best Work

I went into this for little reason other than it was a Miyazaki movie, having looked up very little beforehand. It was an amazing movie that dealt with a very interesting period of history. As usual for Miyazaki, the colors and animation were gorgeous and the characters fascinating. If Miyazaki's retirement actually sticks this time, this will have been a great note to end on for him.

Dreams And Real-Life Collide

The Wind Rises follows the story of an open-hearted airplane designer named Jiro who is also grappling with the realities of the world outside of his employment. He also falls in love with a female that he met in his younger years. Last, but not least, Jiro is frequently shown interacting with one of the famous airplane designers who first inspired him (sometimes through dreams). The Wind Rises is great for those who enjoy watching anime movies that contain elements of both love stories and adventure.

Great film. Shows Japanese life style, culture and social values in a compelling and touching story. Somewhat historical. Cinematography top notch. Not for children, okay for teenagers and adults only.

It filled my heart with peace

The characters in the movie seems to be living in the eye of a hurricane. It is calm, it is peaceful. They are doing what they like. Yet there is a war, there is death and there is destruction. They know that and deal with it the best they can. Feeling emotions, but not being overwhelmed by them. I came out of the theatre happy to be alive and feeling content after seeing this. Our problems may not be going away, but we can getting better at dealing with it.

Flashback Feels

Miyazaki has done it again, comes up with yet, another EPIC movie. I been a big fan of Miyazaki's movies for a while now and I knew this would be epic. It felt like watching a flashback of the past, when the Japanese was designing airplane and about the earthquake and the great depression. Powerful was shown in the movie but sadly didn't last long because of her health condition. EPIC MOVIE. PLEASE WATCH IF YOU HAVEN'T. Although, would've been better if I watch it in English Subbed (like other anime lovers watched).
