    A Major Disappointment

A movie with such a great cast should have at least been tolerable.
The writing and directing were almost cliche like.

'THE WALKER" IS SLOW SLOW SLOW

WASTED USE OF WOMEN. LILY TOMLIN HAD NOTHING TO DO IN THIS FILM. IT FELT LIKE A TWO HOUR EPISODE OF A TV MOVIE OF THE WEEK. NO ENGAGING CHARACTERS. POINTLESS SCRIPT; IT IS "AMERICAN GIGILO" IN WASHINGTON. THIS FILM WILL HAVE A FAST DEATH EVEN IN LIMITED RELEASE. WOODY HARRELSON PLAYED THE ROLE ALL ON ONE LEVEL, AND NO SENSE OF SUSPENSE. DON'T BOTHER WITH THIS ONE..

    The Walker

Wow This was painful to sit thru I usually love this director/writer but this went no where for me It was especially hard to watch Woody Harrelson with the accent/drawl he used in his speech What the heck was that?

    A Creatively Written Film

     by  Gary_the_Oscar_Buff

I'm afraid I disagree with some of the other reviewers here. First of all, this movie is different "art house different". Second, it is not a fast moving action packed thriller. It's a film with an incredible screenplay - If you love good dialog and appreciate a creatively worded script, you'll like this film. Yes, there is a murder - and there is suspense surrounding who committed the murder. But it unfolds slowly in a Hitchcockian sort of way. Thirdly - I am not a big fan of Woody Harrelson - but he's come into his own with this film. His performance in this role is worthy of an Oscar nomination - seriously. But if "overly gay" characters annoy or irritate you, then he will irritate you in this role - but he's acting, and doing a good job of it - an incredibly good job! He's surrounded by a team of good actors, but he shines in this one. Finally, the film features a lot of Brian Ferry songs throughout it - and the music really fits the film!

    so-so could have been go-go

Well filmed movie just misses being a compelling one. If story had both attended more to the homophobe, political climate and perhaps clarified the murder mystery aspect a bit, both the director's technical mastery and the decent, if not strong, cast could have pulled this flick from a muddled shrug to a compelling "you gotta see" experience.

    The Walker

     by  mparra

So great to see Lauren Bacall back in form in her crusty, acerbic turn as one of the elite dames of Washington society. As for the movie, it has an anachronistic feel better suited to the '70s. Not that it was bad, just plodding, with a narrative that was sometimes difficult to follow. I'd give wait to see it on DVD.
