I have been a fan of Gerard Butler for many years now. I support his career without reservation and will go see any film in which he appears. While I am not a fan of romantic comedies in general, I have been pleasantly surprised by some of them. Such was not the case here. This is a film replete with stereotypical characters and filled with sophomoric, scatological "frat boy" humor. In 90 minutes, I laughed *once.*
While I wish Gerard Butler nothing but success, this film left me cold.

Grab your girlfriends and go see this movie. I wouldn't necessarily recommend going to see it with a boyfriend--because it might be a little weird or embarrassing. Definitely DON'T go see it with your parents, and you may even want to leave the husband at home, too.
It isn't that it is a "chick flick," but it's more that you'll want to be with other women when you see it.
There are TONS of dirty parts (no nudity), but bad language and verrrry adult themes. I LOVED it and am taking my best gal friend back to see it a second time.
Oh, and Gerard Butler is the 40-year old version of Edward Cullen. 'Nuff said. :)

Surprisingly funny film for such standard summer fare. My wife and I had some good belly laughs - usually at different parts of the film as there are some blatant sexist remarks that ring true.

Just make sure your prepared for the crude jokes ahead. The r rating is well deserved which finally allowed adult jokes to be made instead of childized. This is not just another ‘chick flick’, men will enjoy the humor just as much as the women. Gerald Butler and Katherine Heigl are great to watch and worked together well. The ending is typical and expected but this movie isn’t about the ending, it’s about the laughs.
