    The Ugly Truth

The Ugly Truth is that this movie is a waste of money, even with beautiful people like Heigl and Butler.
What passes for humor is merely vulgar slang that should have stopped amusing us by the time we got out of middle school. The plot is overused and predictable. Have all the witty screenwriters retired?

    The Ugly Truth

Both my husband and I enjoyed the movie and laughed quite hard at the beautiful truth in the differences between the sexes. Not for kids, though.

    Pretty Freekin Funny

I know the fuddy duddy crowd and nay-sayers will be abundant. This is NOT a "Family" film. Sooo don't take your kids, then complain about having to explain to them the whole "fun" panties at the restaurant thing! My wife and I laughed out loud many times. BUT was not filthy by some of the modern movie standards. Go knowing you will laugh, hard sometimes : ) If you are wanting to critique this movie because its not "preaching a sermon"...don't waste your time...its not!

    better than expected

I first read the review which only got an "F" but didn't say anything to my husband and our guest. We all loved it and could not stop laughing. It is well worth going to see....don't miss this as I'm afraid people will read the reviews and go from there. I highly recommend it.....IF your offended by strong language (sexual content) then take a pass...otherwise get ready to really enjoy and laugh your A%# off.

    Must go

This movie is the funniest movie that I have seen in a long time. I thought this movie was going to be a chick flick; however, this movie is for both men and women. People who haven't seen this movie go now and to the people who have seen it go again.

    Funny, laugh out loud comedy.

Surprisingly funny film for such standard summer fare. My wife and I had some good belly laughs - usually at different parts of the film as there are some blatant sexist remarks that ring true.

FANTASTIC MOVIE FROM A HARSH CRITIC

I am very picky about movies. But I thought this was a great movie!!!
I was laughing continously. Do not listen to the REAL critics.
Go see this amazing movie for yourself. Some say it was predictable but I loved that the battle between the two characters. DO NOT SAY that this is a crude movie because if you can watch Bruno, The Hangover, Knocked Up, Superbad... then you DEFINITELY can take this.

There was no nudity just sexist jokes. I found it to be funny and I am a very single female, who probably messes up a lot of relationships... GO GO GO GO!!!

Critics rated this movie a D

This movie definitely was no ?D.? I would rate it a B- or C+. I thought Katherine Heigl played a very smart woman. I also liked how Gerard Butler was likable in spite of his boorish nature. I read that the movie was predictable. When I walked into the theater, I knew that the two stars were going to get together. That was obvious from the trailers. The way that they got together was in no way predictable. They went through many hilarious situations to finally get together. Overall, I enjoyed this evening at the movies.

    Worth it!

    by kbalon

Usually the husband gets talked into seeing the romantic comedies, but this time it was worth it. Very funny and even though predictable, it was better than expected. Certainly worth the matinee price.

    Exceptionally Funny!

My friend and I went on a whim and ABSOLUTELY loved this movie! We both needed a good laugh and we got just that - and then some. This is definitely an adult movie. I have advised those that have asked if their teenagers would enjoy it to find another more appropriate movie for them ;-) Yes, they WOULD love it (haha), but it is a little "raw". WE found it completely entertaining and would love to see it again. I think it is a great movie for couples, especially if they are very comfortable with their relationship. I don't know that I would recommed it for "first date" material ;-) All in all, a great show and a must see for some great humor!

    Chick Flick?

I went expecting it to just be ok.......as katherine heigel is just so-so as an actress and I had a hard time picturing gerrard butler in a chick flick....but I was suprised how damn funny this movie was....it's less of a chick flick and more of an ******* pig of a man saying over-the-top things most of us would never say to a woman. I found myself saying, "i can't believe he said that" but loving that he did. Not for feminists, or those who would take offense to a guy cracking sex joke after sex joke....sometimes in a deragoratory manner to women.......HILARIOUS, on of the best "chick-flicks" i have ever seen.

    Good movie!

My husband was the only male in the theater, but he enjoyed it! We both laughed a lot!

Lightning Fast, Clever, Sarcastic, Witty and Fantastic

The reviews by critics have made me realize that critics are STUPID. They applauded 'The Proposal' and 'The Hangover' while dissing this movie?

Seriously... those movies are good, but they could have been DVD rentals no problem. Proposal definitely, decent, aside from Ryan Reynolds in a towel, totally not remarkable. Hangover... slapstick stooges and gross out fratboy stuff... entertaining, but hardly anything spectacular.

This movie was clever, the direct sex talk was initially disconcerting but so matter-of-fact clever and used as emphasis to a valid point... loved it. Reminded me of Sex and the City. Every woman that is single, with an otherwise successful life, that is still looking for the 'ideal' mate... will relate.
