The Stoning of Soraya M
Both interesting and shocking events demonstrate how, in a poor midle eastern village, lust, betrayal, and the clinging to barbarian methods can cause an entire group of people to do things that no sane person would dare.

The Stoning of Soraya M.
Truly brutal and a cinematic gem unlike most encountered in the movie theatres now a days. If it weren't based on a true story and if it weren't trying to make a point, I would be less enthusiastic about its visually violent content. However, the movie IS trying to get a point across and thus, I believe that the intensity of it, makes absolute sense. I loved it.

Definite must-see.
The Stoning of Soraya M. is a very rare film. Few films are made at this level with this kind of message and I cannot recommend that you see it enough. The acting, the atmosphere and the themes are enough to merit a trip to the theater in and of themselves, but viewing these in context of the greater picture adds so much more. Sitting in that theater, knowing that we are the continuance of a new chapter in Soraya's story is a once-in-a-decade experience. Taking this into account, you might say that The Stoning of Soraya M. is the most uplifting film of the year. This is a must-see for anyone and everyone. Get involved with the cause, take action, help end stoning now.
