    The Spirit

    by Avellaine

Interesting, but not my thing. If I had known more about the characters/plot going in, I'm sure that it would've been a different movie. I found it difficult to follow.

'The Spirit' is thrilling! 2 1/2 out of 4 stars

'The Spirit' is a thrilling, visually amazing, and action packed film. 'The Spirit' is full of incredible visuals, a lot of action, romance, witty dialogue, and a bit too much comic relief. 'The Spirit' is about a cop named Denny Colt who was brutally murdered by gangsters. Days after he is mysteriously reborn but this time he has the power to regenerate his body after he is injured. He decides to make a deal with commissioner Dolan, the head of the cops that he can become something more than just a cop. He can go under cover and do thing the cops can't do. He can watch over Central City but he has to be beyond the law. He becomes The Spirit. This time The Spirit's archenemy, The Octopus has a plan to become immortal by finding the Blood of Heracles and drinking it. The Spirit has to stop The Octopus from drinking the Blood of Heracles and figure out why he is still alive. 'The Spirit' is almost a 3 star movie but to me it has a bit too much comic relief. For comic book fans, go see it

    Okay, not great

    by redyeah

The great thing about this movie is its sarcastic look at itself. It is not serious and knows it is not. The problem though is the way this was scripted, it is hard to care about the characters. There is no development and thusly, not memorable.

    God-awful

    by CFC_Exton

I was excited to see this movie, having liked previous Frank Miller-based ones. This was just bad. The lone bright spot was Eva Mendes did a good job. It was the same cinematic/screen editing as the others, so no originality. The story had a lot of potential too but it ended up flat. The narrator (main character) took away from the movie too much and you never really got to "know" any of the other characters or even get a "feel" for the city he was spirit for.
