    The Spiderwick Chronicles in IMAX

Overall, a very enjoyable trip into fantasy land. I learned thenks about fairies and gremlins and the such that I never imagined. The acting was good (not great) and the story line was very good. I can't help but feel with all of these magnificent tools of sight and sound available, it couldn't have been made more memorable.

    Fun getaway from reality.

This movie was quite good despite the terrible reviews it received. My wife and I found that the movie was a fantastic tale with a good story line and visual effects. We both felt that the movie was not exactly suited for IMAX as we found or eyes wandering to try and take in a complete scene; at times the effect of remastering the film for IMAX seemed to make me dizzy.
There were points in the film that I found myself thinking that it was ridiculous, but that is really the point of a film like this. It is ridiculous; obviously there are no trolls, goblins and such, but it is a really fun getaway from reality. Every once in a while it is nice to forget that we are adults and don't believe in fairies...go see it and get the giant tub of popcorn and enjoy! Oh yeah, remember to bring someone you love so you may share an hour and a half of fun fantasy.

The Spiderwick Chronicles: The IMAX Experience

I took my childred and my mother so see the movie at the IMAX because we thought it was going to be like the other movies at the IMAX. We thought we would be wearing the glasses and that it would be the whole IMAX experience. Unfortunately, the movie was in 2D and this was not the case. The reason it bothered me was because my childred and I had already seen the movie in the regular theater and I would not have paid the high price to see it in the IMAX if I had known it was not going to be the full IMAX experience and was in 2D. The movie itself is a wonderful movie, but my children were extremely disappointed as they were expecting to wear the glasses and see the movie in the IMAX format and not 2D.

    Wait for the DVD

Well, I'm glad other people have enjoyed this film. I found this movie surprisingly predictable, the acting lame, and the weak effects and cinematography no match for an IMAX venue. *Not* worth the price of admission.

    Spiderwick on IMAX is Great!

Spiderwick on IMAX is Great! The Edwards-22 theaters in Rancho Cucamonga, Ca has a huge IMAX screen that really brought out the fantasy characters in this film. The story and actors held our attention through the whole feature. There was alot of suspense and very smooth special effects that did not look fake on the giant screen.

I would recommend this to all families and anyone interested in just getting away for an hour and a half.

    Perfectly Thrilling for Older Kids!

My 8 year old son and both covered our eyes and sometimes ears, which was perfect defense for the frightening goblins and other surprise creatures. My 5 year old could not have made it through this film, but it was perfect for age 8 or older. With a bit of courage, my son watched the entire film, and so did I. The child actors were smart and real - not too perfect, but not too cynical. The thrust of the movie was that children can solve problems on their own, live and cope with reality, and be open to adventure. I love those themes!

    Spiderwick

A good family movie with only a few scarey moments. A good story line, great graphics, an overall nice package.
The Imax experience is awesome, what a great format.
