A typical haunted house story with no big surprises but the actors did a fine job with what they had. It is a comedic ghost story that is something different to see during the Halloween season.

A Terrific Thrill-omedy!

"The Selling" gives a new twist to the real estate term "taking possession." Two realtors buy a house intending to flip it only to learn their new acquisition is haunted. I didn't quite know what to expect when I bought a ticket to "The Selling," but the film provides plenty of laughs, as well as a few downright chilling moments. The cast of mostly unknowns features Gabriel Diani as Richard Scarry ("Two 'R's... like the children's author"), Jonathan Klein as his partner--business partner, that is--Dave Ross, Janet Varney as their rival Mary Best, Etta Devine as ghost rights activist Ginger Sparks, and Nancy Lenehan as Richard's mother. Barry Bostwick has a delightful extended cameo as exorcist Father Jimmy, and a few other recognizable actors turn up in small roles. Kudos to director Emily Lou and screenwriter Gabriel Diani, both of whom also produced the film, as well as cinematographer Matthias Schubert.
