Entertaining but not "Gripping"

A light story presented in a casual fashion. The story line has some flaws so be prepared to suspend reality.... A feel good film where you don't need to bring your entire brain....

Sweet movie is a feast for the eyes

This is a very sweet movie. It's a significant departure from the short story - but it is enjoyable. It's a nice combination of humor, pathos, and cheer. The performances are great. I'v never been too partial to Ben Stiller or Kristen Wiig, but both were delightful here. BUT my favorite part of the film was cinematography, which was stunning. Nearly every moment in the entire film is artistic. The views of Iceland are fabulous. I'd like to see this film again just to enjoy the visual treats.

The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty ... Best Kept Secret this year!

Was really surprised at how much this movie spoke to me. From the movie's message of rediscovering who you are, and who you've been afraid to be, to the breathtaking landscapes, locations and cinematography, to the wonderful character acting of Ben Stiller, Kristen Wiig, Sean Penn, and the rest of this great cast, The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty is one of my new favorites and a film I know I'll return to time and again, whenever I feel I've lost my way ... see it and I know you'll feel the same.

Delightful, Playful Romp that the Whole Family Can Enjoy

I saw this movie with my wife and daughter (home from college on winter break) and we all enjoyed it. Ben Stiller's Walter is vulnerable and decent - and his comic moments are refreshingly subdued. Kristen Wiig is sweet and attractive as Walter's love interest, and she gets a brief opportunity to demonstrate a surprisingly lovely singing voice. Important, if short, roles for Patton Oswald and Sean Penn are hilarious and intriguing, respectively. The rest of the supporting cast does a fine job. The cinematography is, at moments, breathtakingly beautiful. The only weak spot in the movie is the plot, which is a little thin. All told, a very enjoyable way to spend two hours.
