I admit that the movie was a bit cheesy especially in the beginning. It did get better towards the end. Basically you can watch the second half of the movie and it will inspire you to stop working too much and enjoy life traveling to other places. All in all---a good family movie. We enjoyed it!

Though it dragged a little, this was a solid movie. Had some very funny lines, that were not appreciated by the audience, so listen carefully. The ending tied everything together really nicely, making it an uplifting entertaining movie. The cinematography was amazing. Ben Stiller did a great job directing and acting in the movie. Kristin Wiig gave a solid performance, but I'm not sure she was the right person for her role. Though they had minor roles Shirley McClaine gave a superb performance as did Sean Penn. I would definitely recommend this movie. It is good for all ages.

This is a paint by numbers middle brow audience pleaser. Big on splashy digital effects, explosions, easy to hate corporate villains: all the ingredients for a holiday release. Sean Penn and Shirley MacLaine are unextraordinary in small roles and take work away from character actors who could have used the work. What the critical fuss over Kristen Wiig is about I don't know, but she's no Virginia Mayo.

The cinematography was great and the story line was appealing to our teenagers and us. The ending could have been better, but overall it was an enjoyable movie. My only complaint was that the action was not as advertised. The previews made you anticipate much more action.
