Ben Stiller brought this sweet, gentle story to life.
I can't say enough about the photography and locations! I feel as though I was traveling with him!
Certainly he deserves a nod at awards time for the picture, directing AND that nice little note at the end about how many jobs the production and distribution of the movie created!

I saw this movie with my wife and daughter (home from college on winter break) and we all enjoyed it. Ben Stiller's Walter is vulnerable and decent - and his comic moments are refreshingly subdued. Kristen Wiig is sweet and attractive as Walter's love interest, and she gets a brief opportunity to demonstrate a surprisingly lovely singing voice. Important, if short, roles for Patton Oswald and Sean Penn are hilarious and intriguing, respectively. The rest of the supporting cast does a fine job. The cinematography is, at moments, breathtakingly beautiful. The only weak spot in the movie is the plot, which is a little thin. All told, a very enjoyable way to spend two hours.

I thought this was a good, clean movie, kept moving and did not get stale at any point. Thought Sean penn was great and it had an Awesome ending!!

Went Christmas Day. Lot's of fun, great visuals, LOVE the slow pace of the movie. Good acting -- so true: what we "think" we do. Thoughts are powerful indeed.

I was disappointed in the movie. I like all the actors in the movie and I saw the original with Danny Kaye. That is why I wanted to see this movie. I didn't expect this movie to be exactly the same. I guess it was too choppy for me. Some of the cinematography was breathtaking.
Young kids would be lost with this movie but, 8 and up would be Ok.
