What a surprising movie! Although the trailer helped me to see that this wouldn't be a typical Ben Stiller movie, I still didn't expect to be moved to tears in the last five minutes. This film was very well done, from the cinematography to the creative use of daydreaming/imagination. Although there are a few crude jokes and references, I would feel comfortable letting my 14 year-old cousin see this movie.
I felt very invested in Walter's life and the script did a good job of revealing why he lived such a comfortable existence while holding most of the information until the end when it was most relevant. The irony of someone with Walter's personality working for a magazine such as Life was very subtly played and worked surprisingly well. The worst character (intentionally) was the acquisition supervisor, who could have been played less over-the-top, but it worked to make me really dislike him!
Lots of heart and a fantastic message about getting out there and living LIFE!

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty was a terrific film! The acting was outstanding, the scenery was beautiful, and the life was fun to be a part of! I appreciated that people of any age could enjoy this movie.

First I want to say I just plain enjoyed the movie. If your OK with a movie that challenges the assumptions that have you stuck, this is "one of those kind of movies.'so go see it'
You can decide whether it's light or heavy. I found it to be both
