Good movie, creepy old rocker lives
I was hesitant for a long time about renting this one after the incredibly retarted "School of Rock" with Jack Black. However, I was pleasantly surprised with this one. Rainn Wilson plays the "Creepy old Rocker" to a tee. He just wants to rock!!! 20 years earlier, HIS band, "Vesuvius" is on the verge of super-stardom but theres only one catch, the Record Company won't sign them unless they fire Rainn and replace him with a studio exec's son. After that, he fades into obscurity for 20 years until begrudgingly being tagged to play drums at a High-School prom, after which, he gives in to the dark-side and becomes the drummer of a pop-rock band which slowly begins to gain a big fan-base. Meanwhile, his old band, Vesuvius is getting inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and guess who they choose to open for them? Yes, you guessed it. At first, Rainn refuses, but begrudgenly gives in and it pays off as Vesuvius is exposed as being a fake. His one-liners are classic.
