Good movie, keeps you guessing and in suspense, and the historical angle and connection to Edgar Allan Poe is an added bonus, John Cussac is his ussual self, meaning a good actor. Certainly worth your while.

Good up until the credits

Good movie. Good mystery and good for any Poe fan. The only part that made no sense is the credits. Just out of the blue. Turns to something you might find in a Skrillex Music video. Other than that, good stuff.

Predictible. Slow. Phantom of the Opera meet Jekell and Hyde meets Sherlock Holmes meets Jack the Ripper. Didn't even get a good nap in during the movie.

Revisit Poe, Then Go!

I thought the film was a smart, suspenseful, sometimes gruesome period piece. While not 100% necessary, if you revisit Poe's Murders in the Rue Morgue, The Pit and the Pendulum, The Tell Tale Heart, Cask of Amontillado, The Mystery of Marie Roget, etc. you might find it even more enjoyable. I thought Cusack did a fantastic acting job. To me it was From Hell meets Sherlock Holmes and I love both those movies so it left me satisfied.

Good Movie

So if you are an Edgar Allen Poe person, then this movie is for you. While it is fiction, I would like to think that EAP would have liked very much this movie, as it describes himself in his last days of life doing something that was higher than him. If you look at it for the entertainment value, I believe you will enjoy it-I think you will be very pleased. It has a nice twist, and it will be something that you will remember for a while. So go see it-it will be an enjoyable evening with your romantic other. If you have a red robin by you-make it burgers and a movie, you won't go wrong
