Good movie.
I saw the movie last night with my three year old son. If you're looking for the typical Disney princess born in a castle and fighting the wicked witch, this is not the one for you. If you're looking for a heart warming family tale of love and determination with the message of regardless of where you are in life or what you look like, you can succeed and do great things, this one is a ringer.
My son watched most of the movie with interest, though he visibly covered his eyes during the voodoo Shadow Man musical montage. His friend announced that he "didn't like that" after that portion was over. I found I agreed. It was just a bit darker than I would like to associate with Disney, but the movie is set in New Orleans and it is a recognizable part of culture.
Overall, I liked the movie, found myself chuckling at a few of the lines, giving the obligatory "a*** at one of the sadder moments in the movie, and appluaded at the end with the rest fo the patrons in the movie.
