UNBELIEVABLE

I went to this move with great expectations but certainly was NOT rewarded. Ryan Gosling is no Ed Norton and Bradly Cooper is lame. The real acting came from Eva Mendes, Ray Liotta who had way to small of a roll and keep an eye on Dane DeHaan - he is a true up and coming young star. The move had no redeeming factors unless you believe, most American men are booze smoking drug addicted psychos who, either wind up dead or deadbeats - raise kids that do nothing but booze - smoke and oh yes beat each other up. WOW - I guess that's the NEW NORMAL we are expected to 'believe!?' That's UNBELIEVABLE!

2/3 a good movie

I liked the first 2 stories in this movie. Both of which could have been good if flushed out to be their own movies. BUT that last act/movie sucked. One could say all 3 acts/movies were cliche'd but the 3rd was the worst. Oh and when you realize how the movie is dragging on you will wish the 3rd act was gone.

Meandering and uninteresting

Although the actors in the film do a fantastic job, I did not find it very enjoyable to watch. It seemed to drag on quite a while. In fact, when the credits rolled my fellow moviegoer to my left said "Halleluia." I typically enjoy or find something interesting in most movies I see, unfortunately this one I could not. I often asked myself during the film what the point of the movie was. By the end, I was trying to review in my mind what the filmmaker wanted to say or what the message was, but there just didn't seem to be one. Skip it or see it on video if you are curious.

WTH?

Talk about movies that make no sense. There are several twists in the story - the middle part is flat out boring - and at the end logic is thrown out the window and none of the issues or questions get answered. Basically everyone screws up - and they all live happily after. That only happens if your last name is Lohan.

A tale of fathers and one act of justice that can change everything, leaving up a legacy of sins, and confusions about what's right and wrong anymore.

A tale of fathers and one act of justice that can change everything, leaving up a legacy of sins, and confusions about what's right and wrong anymore. EXCELLENT storytelling (very unexpected, that I can guarantee you). Pacing is a bit off. 20 mins cut off might have made it worth owning in my collection.
