Extremely Well done...

Excellent movie, with lots of depth within the storyline, and excellent work by the entire cast. In my opinion, Ryan Gosling is quickly positioning himself as the leading actor of his generation! Finally, this one will stay in your mind for awhile, contemplating its full meaning.

It was an experience. Not good though!

A disjointed film. Two movies in one that had "zero" flow. I get the "relationships between father and son" theme, but I found none of the characters to be at all redeeming enough to care about their relationships. The story lines with each were boring and there was no expansion on secondary story lines or of other aspects that could have put some interest back into the film. If you like slow moving stories with dull characters, then this movies is for you. I found it not only to be a waste of money but more importantly a waste of my time. DON'T GO!

"The Place Beyond the Pines"

I absolutely was mesmerized by Ryan Gosling acting and appearacne. Cooper's too. I loved the movie almost to the end - until the two obnoxious kids showed up. I really hated the boy (the character) of Cooper's son. The movie is definitely worth seeing. As I said before, it is Gosling all the way.

Very well acted especially Ryan Gosling. He is an amazing actor and captures this role entirely. The movie was too long and the plot became too "soap opera" like when the two sons' stories are told.

Could have been a miniseries

Way too long. I saw it because two of my favorite actors were in it. Ryan G. and Bradley C. were really good, but their talent was wasted on this convoluted, kind of boring saga that takes place over 17 years. Its a story about two men that take different paths that meet at different times in different ways. If it was about 30 minutes shorter it would be so much better. Not for kids.
