When I went to see this movie I knew very little about it ( I didn't even know it was based on a book), so I had no real expectations. This movie turned out to be one of the best movies I've seen this year. Everything was amazing, from the actors and screenplay, to the direction and the music choice. It was funny and endearing, but also chilling and emotionally-charged. It is one of those movies that leave you feeling inspired and enlightened. It also can appeal to a wide range of audiences. Everyone from young teens to senior citizens will enjoy this movie. I highly recommend it :)

It was engaging. Didn't want to leave to go to the bathroom. I cared about the characters. It was fun and emotional. A little unrealistic or overplayed at times, but it is fiction. Definitely worth a watch.

This movie was sad, and really funny at times. It was a lot sadder than I thought it was going to be, but overall it was fantastic. I laughed and nearly cried many times. Charlie's relationship with Sam was really touching, but the best part was probably seeing Patrick dressed up as Tim Curry's character from The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

"The Perks of Being a Wallflower" is a fun, sad, nostalgic film that recall to mind for this reviewer old high school adventures and relationships.
That sense of yearning is felt in the movie as well as the novel it is based on. What is great in the film adaptation is that you can actually hear the songs mentioned in the novel and see the visual descriptions which match well.
I'm glad that the author of the novel was able to write and direct the film because the adaptation is in the same voice and it works.

Just a great movie about the harsh reality of growing up and highschool, popularity and the potential to survive without totally compromising to the cliques in life. Would have liked to have seen a movie like this when I was that age. A definite must see for all young in the school experience.......and everyone else too. Poingnant messages in this one.
