Do you read a book before seeing the movie?

This is always a tough one for me. I read The Perks of Being a Wallflower and had high expectations for the movie. This movie was artfully done - not like the American Pie series. It was tasteful when it came to tough subjects like alcohol and drugs while still getting the point across. I was not thrilled wiht some of the scenes left out from the book. I know they only have so much time on screen, but I thought some of the scenes were relative to the story. Someone that did not read the book may not have the background needed to understand some issues. Overall, a great movie!

The Perks of Watching this Movie

When I went to see this movie I knew very little about it ( I didn't even know it was based on a book), so I had no real expectations. This movie turned out to be one of the best movies I've seen this year. Everything was amazing, from the actors and screenplay, to the direction and the music choice. It was funny and endearing, but also chilling and emotionally-charged. It is one of those movies that leave you feeling inspired and enlightened. It also can appeal to a wide range of audiences. Everyone from young teens to senior citizens will enjoy this movie. I highly recommend it :)

The perks was fantastic... I'm so glad it was directed by the author himself. It could have not been done better. I cried, laughed, and felt the characters pain. MUST GO SEE!!!!

OK FOR SOME VIEWERS...

It's a lot of movie to fit into an hour and 40 minutes so many of the things that made it such a fascinating read had to be left out. Those who know and love the book will be delighted to see the characters come to life. Perks newbies will be left hanging on multiple points as not much of the inner-monologue makes it to the screen. Regardless, there are some fine performances put out by the three leads who saved it from being a teen giggle-fest.

Have experienced this and MORE, so how being bullied can be tuff and molested(by a close relative, not by a dirty old man with a bag of candy). Take friends, NOT for young kids. Enjoy
