Not what I expected

It was just okay. The beginning was off putting - it had me wondering about being there with my kids and if it really was a kid movie. It was a bit on the crass side at times. I thought it would be more of an Ice Age type of humor and this was not that type of movie. It had its funny / nice moments but also some moments that were more mean spirited. Knowing what I know now, we would not pay to go to the movies to see it. It was our youngest son's birthday yesterday and he was torn between going bowling and going to see the Nut Job. We wish we had gone bowling instead. Or seen Frozen again.

My little boy is 7 years old, and he and his best friend enjoyed the movie. They knew some of the parts from the previews, and seemed to have enjoyed it.

Movie was very hard to follow and my kids (2 years, 5 years, 10 years) got extremely bored. Hardly any humor. The only time the any of the kids were interested in the movie was at the end when cartoon Psy danced Gagnahm Style. Terrible.

If you have nothing better to do and want something to entertain the kids, this movie is good enough. Don't go out of your way to see it

Too Long

I would say this is one of the less appealing animated films. I found myself yawning and wishing they had wrapped it up 20 minutes before the movie was over (they just seemed to throw in too many ridiculous cliff hangers for the final section of the movie). The quality of the animation was so-so, although the colors were nice, and the characters were hard to root for. Not sure why they needed the Grayson character in the movie at all (but I do like Brendan Fraser). Ok, yes this is just a cartoon about squirrels so not to get too picky (or nutty), but after the price of tickets and snacks I really wished I had just waited for for the DVD. Looking forward to Mr. Peabody and the Lego Movie now!
