The performance was magnificent! I am 79 years old and it was on my bucket list to see
The Nutcracker. I could not have chosen a better performance. It was so much better
Than to see it in person as everyone is so visible and you could see all the graceful steps they take, I loved it and would go back again to see it.

Thank you for the opportunity to review this movie. I attend the Mariinsky whenever I can, usually at the Kennedy Center when they are on tour. Tickets are expensive but worth it. They are the best ballet company in the world. In this film however, Wronski got it wrong-ski. The camera work ruined the ballet. Who can appreciate the dancers when they are cut off above the knees? Who wants a close-up of the face of a ballerina when it causes you to miss the staging and full views of the corps de ballet? It was a jumbled mess. Each and every scene and moment was ruined. It was impossible to see the dancer's full movements and it was impossible to appreciate the always glorious Mariinsky staging. I will never attend another Fathom Events production of a ballet. PS why not set the camera up as if the audience were sitting still in a beautiful theater? Again, I will never attend another Fathom Events production. They got it wrong.

Before going thought the 3D would be a waste but honestly changed the experience. Took my 5 year old granddaughter and she watched the entire time, now that is an endorsement.

This production was really bad and not worth the money at all. They claimed it was in 3 D and it totally was not. The show started and the theater didn't even shut off their sales track so we missed the first 5 minutes of the music. I would never recommend the event or the fork and dine at the AMC Esplanade 14 on Camelback.
Really disappointed in the whole experience. Don't go!!!

The Mariinsky's performance was pure magic - stunningly beautiful. The orchestra, conducted by the world reknowned Valery Gergiev, was magnificent. This was such a wonderful opportunity to see world class performers "up close and personal". The stature of the Mariinsky Ballet Theatre, and of it's orchestra, and this performance's conductor, is beyond reproach. Incredible art in our own backyards, and yet only six people chose to partake of the fabulous cultural event - brought to us all the way from St Petersburg, Russia - Live!, for only 12.50. Hard to fathom...
