Chinese adoption. . .a loving choice NOT a punchline
I cringed when references were made (several times I might add) to Chinese babies ending up in trashcans. I have 2 daughters from China and dialog like this is not accurate & is very offensive. Hunt asks her bio mom to buy her a baby. Left wondering if Hunt's character's fertility treatment is a success, the story jumps ahead and we are introduced to a Chinese daughter. This is after Hunt's character has made it very clear throughout the movie that "she is NOT going to adopt a Chinese baby." So obviously the fertility treatment didn't work. What made her change her mind? Adoption is not something to be entered into lightly for the same reasons the movie spent 90 min exploring. And yet, after dishing Chinese adoption for 90 min the writer finds it convenient to wrap everything up with a 1 min introduction to a Chinese daughter. Adoption is not about buying a baby. It is a loving choice. Hollywood needs to portray Chinese adoption in an educated way not as an easy plot resolution

Original buzz:
Thought it was ok
I love the actors in it...they did a really good job. They just didn't have much to work with. The story line was too good. I didn't mind renting it since I only spent $4 to see it.

Read the book, skip the movie. They are nothing alike.
I really enjoyed this book, but the movie was nothing like it. Don't see this movie expecting to see the same story as the book.
They have re-writen the story and changed the main character from a self confident never married woman, happy with her life into a pathetic married/cheating on her husband woman yearning for a baby.
