I've been a faithful follower of this book series since it came out, and since then the infernal devices series, but this movie was amazing. It was action packed just like the book, it missed a couple details but eh, just details. Could have been way worse. I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone who has read the book because it doesn't explain much in the movie so if you haven't read the book first you're going to be lost.

I really enjoyed this movie. Some parts where changed from the book but it did not hurt the story. I can not wait to see it again.

I highly suggest reading the books first. They cut a lot of the history and character building pieces. I think to fully understand the movie you need to read the books. That being said, it was a million times better than the first Twilight movie. They didn't ruin the story. They did what they could in the time allotted. Not the best movie from a book I've seen but not bad either. It was worth seeing and I'll likely see it again before it leaves theaters.

I really enjoyed the movie. I thought the casting was great except for Magnus Bane. The actor they chose from him was terrible!!!! All the rest were great. A definite must see if you have read the books. Even if you haven't read the books it would still be a fun movie to go see.
Great for young teens and up. I am in my 50's but that didn't stop me from enjoying it
I can't wait till the next one comes out.
I love Jace

I have read all of the immortal instruments books including the prequels. I have to say that I LOVE them, they are my top favorites. I recommend reading them to anyone. Buuut this movie did the book NO justice, I just felt like it was a joke, their was odd music played at odd times, the actors I wasn't impressed with, the "Runes" on their bodies looked like a 5 year old painted on them when they are supposed to look like faint scars, I feel like they took the outline of the book and put things that happened here and there, lines that were said, then made up the rest. The love scenes were corny, and if I remember correctly Jace and Clary weren't even upfront with their feelings toward each other and this movie acted as if they were expressing their love from the start. The vampires looked like fake zombies, and the werewolves were "biker" men and growled like little puppies. They treated this movies as a joke and for an author who I adore, should have ended it from the start.
