Shallow Celebrity Worship

Were it not for the array of celebrity actors and the massive PR campaign, no one would go see this lame, didactic, preachy, predictable mess. Even the art is worshipped more for the fame of the artists than any demonstrated appreciation of its intrinsic worth. Hollywood at its most shallow.

Not a "monumental" achievement by Clooney

It could have been a great movie but ... it is not. Despite a stellar cast, it suffers from a poor script full of trite dialogue. The story of the Monuments Men is a remarkable one but somehow Clooney missed the mark transferring a great book onto the screen.

Disappointing

With the great cast, I was excited to see this movie. Although there were a few good moments, I felt the script was weak and more character development would have set the stage better and led to a more emotion filled movie.

Boring

Nice story but boring. Lots of the same thing throughout: They look for art, find art, look for art find art. VERY corny jokes, like someone immature writing them. VERY repetitive melodrama reading..."losing art is losing oneself". Yes but dont say it every 20 min. Probably not for kids, they would find it more boring than adults. Left out all other aspects of the Holocaust. Too many people in too many directions. Lots of detail left out - No detail how the massive art made it back to the "owner", or how they found the "owners". Seemed like the focus was "Can I make anyone laugh at this"? The answer is ..."NO".
