The Monuments Men

This movie exposed an often forgotten period that truly impacted the Art History preservation movement. I was impressed with the storyline as well as the characters/actors ability to give a convincing and compelling look at how our world was under siege for one man's insane destiny. I thank the producers for using foresight in the replicas and the costumes and with the historians who made our rendition of this period piece enjoyable.

It is historically fascinating, loved learning about what happened. The movie itself was rather flat…none of the characters made me really care about them, even as a group they seemed a bit shallow. I think making a documentary of this subject would hold people's interest, this film came up short. There wasn't enough time to get the audience sufficiently involved in the situation. Hugh Bonneville was the only actor I felt could be singled out for a meaningful performance.

This movie based on a true story of the losses of war should be seen by anyone who calls themselves American. If you're looking for robo-cop, this isn't it. This is an historically based movie with exceptional acting, and enough suspense to keep you focused. Thanks for creating much a fine movie.
