For second time in as many HD operas technical problems. No sound for last 4 - 5 minutes of opera. Not sure I want to rely on HD performance again.

The singing and acting was superb as was the staging! There were however three issues: 1. The theater seems to have a problem in setting the volume at a tolerable level until one of us goews out and complains. This occurred twice, once at the beginning and after the intermission. 2. They also have a problem in turning down the lights once the opera begins again requiring one of us to go complain. This has happened during the last two operas we have attended. 3. Finally, the theater lost the sound in the last crucial 15 minutes of the opera. We did have the picture however. It came roaring back duuring the curtain calls. These three problems sadly detracted fromn our full enjoyment of this production. I [plan to write a letter to this effect to the theater management and to the Metropolitan Opera. Saul Zeichner

The opera was OK until the last 15 minutes. At that time the sound from NY was entirely cut off, so that the audience saw a soundless opera during the most important part. We should have the ticket price refunded.

The screening of this wonderful performance was spoiled by an audio transmission failure at the climax. This is unacceptable. Ticket holders should be compensated with free passes to another Met HD screening.

Poor Werther. He loved not wisely but too well. He needed counseling. The music and singing are glorious. Too bad for the silent last several minutes. The universe in its wisdom doesn't like sad endings.
