It was exceptional! We have seen Tosca many times including one with Pavarotti at the met and this was in every way comparable. However, we saw the Encore presentation and the intermissions were too long. Since it was on film it would have been simple, I think to cut them down. Arlene

I like opera, I love Puccini, and The Met HD series is the best way to see quality opera I have found in almost 70 years (really 55 yrs that I have liked opera). It's the difference between sitting in the nose-bleed section or watching on BIG screen HDTV. WOW! And the sound is unmatched. And you actually get to see what happens backstage during intermissions. And since The Met is doing the production you know it is of the highest quality with the best singers, an outstanding orchestra and in a magnificent hall. I can't wait for the next offering in this series. If you have a chance - GO!

Wonderful singing by all major characters along with dramatic acting. Intermission times seemed extended for commercial purposes and somewhat broke the spell of the story line.

Great opera but a crooked neck

I saw Tosca at two theaters and both times the wonderful singing, production and music overcame a difficult seating situation. At both movie houses attendance was overflowing and though we arrived a half hour before screen time we ended up with third row seats which put our necks into painful position. If these broadcasts continue which such success, why don't the theater management consider a larger or second venue. Opera and performances were wonderful, however.

This drama was well performed by the cast. Roberto Alagna is really mastering his voice, he made me not miss Pavarotti ... and that is truly amazing. Enjoyed very much. Plus you get to eat popcorn while watching a superb performance and cast.
