An extraordinary show, and a special delight to have the composer conducting. Had seen it in Santa Fe and liked that version better than this version--but the Prospero here made up for any concerns. Good casting, choreograpy...just a delight.

We enjoyed the production; as always at the Met the performances were excellent. We enjoyed not having any loud noise from the adjacent theaters. Thank you!

The music is incredibly moving, the cast is fabulous, the adaptation of the play is superb, and the stage production is wonderful. The performance was so evocative that it haunted me the next day. If you like opera, you will probably love this. I also love the intermission interviews with the stars--Debra Voight did the interviews for this performance.

This was the first Opera in this setting I've seen and I highly rate this experience. It was so insightful and I left with such an understanding of the work. I cannot wait to experience another Opera in this format!! - Ben

THE TEMPEST

A great new production from the Met, superbly directed, sung, staged. The music is modern but very beautiful and suited to the subject of Shakespeare's play. The libretto, compared to Shakespeare, was jingly and simpleminded--not successful in my opinion. The Regal Carousel theater where I saw it has a superior sound system to two other theaters I have viewed Met HD in, one in Dewitt, one in NYC (the Ziegfeld).
