Such a joy to watch this opera live from New York. Very strong orchestration very much a part of the opera. Great sets and always fun to watch behind the curtain during the breaks. But the best is the singing. All characters were very strong led by Renee Fleming. She is amazing. So much symbolism in the story. So powerful. Enjoyed every minute.

Unfortunately, due to "technical difficulty" at the theater, the show was cancelled. We hope that a later date can be arranged or at least a performance in the summer. I had seen a previous performance and was really looking forward to seeing it again.

In my opinion, the Met Opera HD productions are always worth viewing. However, the sound in St Louis Park MN theater isn't what it should be. It is too soft and appears to come from the front speakers only. I have been to many of the Met Opera broadcasts and the sound has been inconsistent and inadequate. It should always be maximized for the full opera experience. The singers and the orchestra sound far too distant and quiet. Please solve this problem so the opera viewers can hear the music the way it was intended. Turn up the volume please.

As the Opera conductor said, anything Renee Fleming does turns to GOLD! She has it all. She's even a good actor. I was very moved even though we know it's a fairy tale. I've now seen it twice!! Mostly to hear and watch Ms Fleming, but I thought the Prince was excellent as well. They were well-matched!

New twist on the typical tragedy of operas!

Went to see Rusalka only because Renee Fleming was playing the lead role and I was not disappointed! I shy away from Russian opera because they are often dank and dark plots, but Dvorak's imagination was key to the success of this score. The music is outstanding and the 3 lead characters were played by 3 seasoned performers. Having a nymph as the main character was a real twist, and it was difficult to watch Fleming in the second act perform without opening her mouth. If you are a Verdi snob, then try Rusalka and look beyond your comfort zone. It was fantastic. The 4+ hours flew by unnoticed.
