Rusalka is fabulous as presented by the Metropolitan Opera of NYC. My favorite of the season so far.

WHAT BRILLIANCE, JOY and POWER in the Met Opera, yesterday, seen on screen. What a melodious voice, with Renee Fleming portraying the water nymph so beautifully! What inexperience, sitting back, enjoying the performance, the conducting, the intermission as well, witnessing the staging and meticulous preparation for this extraordinary performance. It was an afternoon to remember, shared with good friends! The season is filled with marvelous and enticing choices. Bravo!!! Judith B. Carlson judithb125@gmail.com

Theatre was unable to maintain the Dish feed so we got our money back

This opera is a must. Three of us anxiously awaited seeing this Live from the Metropolitan Opera in HD. The broadcast prior to the performance was good though pixelated at times. And 2-3 minutes into the opera, as we were enthralled with the costumes, set and music we got a giant screen of "Signal lost" which came and went for the next few minutes. It never did come back to the opera and no one from the theatre ever came in to tell us what was going on. We decided we had missed to much in the beginning to be able to watch the rest of it if the broadcast was restored so we marched out and got a refund. There formed a long line of other unhappy people behind us doing the same thing. The couple behind us said this same thing had happened at this theatre at another Met Opera Live performance they had come to. My friend had been to 4 of these performances prior at a different theatre and never had this happen. We are going to the Encore performance in 3 days in a different city.

Huge fan of Renee Fleming and in Rusalka she puts on an outstanding performance. Her voice is strong enough to overcome the orchestra and shine out like the star she is! The entire cast is exceptional and the performance is simply a must see for any fan of the Metropolitan Opera. Wonderful!!

Rusalka

The theater was too crowded and hot. The set was dark and dreary. The only thing older than the "vintage" set were the sopranos. I love Fleming but it's time to move on from this role. The tenor struggled to maintain emotional connection with the mute Rusalka. Have to wonder about the choice of source material. Great series, lousy production.
