The local theatre (Crossgates Mall Albany NY) was poorly suited to show the opera. The sound from a/c blowers was disturbing as was sound from a neighboring theatre. The film was so dark throughout that there was no sense of the stage or the scenery as the camera focused only on the individual singers, The showing was very disappointing even though the opera itself i.e. the music was marvelous.

The subject line says it all. Music, set, acting, singing, directing all superb. It doesn't get any better than this, especially if you like early music. They did a fine job making the Met orchestra sound like an early music ensemble. Impressive in every aspect. Renee Fleming was stunning vocally, musically, and visually. Stephanie Blythe, the same. The whole cast was amazing.

Perfection in all respects: gorgeous music, humor and pathos in a good story, lovely sets, great costumes, superb acting, and the most beautiful singing imaginable. Who could ask for more?

Rene Fleming and all the singers were outstanding. It's not often you hear 2 contra tenors in an opera. I enjoyed the opera, even thought Handel's music is very repetitive. You have to love opera to truly understand the work that went into the production and the singing. Great experience!

Handel is so long and repetitive and redundant , only the diehard fans can sit through it , Verdi is easier Rodelinda had th most beautiful and great sets . The Met does a spectacular job and that is wot=rth the seeing
