One of the best performances I've ever heard out of the Met. That's with 45 years of listening experience. Production was thought-provoking, singing exceptional--each role was perfectly cast. May be tough going for the opera-newbie, but well worth the effort! Agree with the earlier poster: so good it made the 5.5 hours fly by!!!

If you can make it through the first act, you have got it made. The seconds and third acts are inspriing. This production with the projections was wonderful, although I did not like the modern dress.

This is a must see for any Wagner fan. The singing is fabulous. It is long, but well worth seeing. The staging is unusual and new, but that makes the production all that more fascinating. It was very helpful having the producer explain the concept behind the production during the intermission.

A fabulous performance of a stupendous opera, with brilliant soloists, superb choral singing, and a first rate orchestra. Concept, staging, and lighting were stunningly good, though I prefer the medieval fantasy look for this work. It's a six hour show with intermissions and stage calls, so be prepared.

The music is divine and the voices are absolutely first-rate. One might carp about the production and the omnipresent blood, but it is an astounding experience overall.
