If you can't be at the Met, this is definitely the next best thing! Susan Graham and Deborah Voight were excellent hosts and Ms Fleming was in excellent voice throughout. I loved every moment of it!

Metropolitan Opera: Opening Night Gala

The event was spectacular and we really enjoyed all of the performances by each of the Stars. It was also interesting to see all of the "backstage" activity and learn about the costumes and wigs and scenery that went into the production.Of course, we missed Beverly Sills who used to emcee the event. We did not enjoy the venue however. This should have been held in the Casino's showroom - not in a movie theater. Drinking soda and eating popcorn and hotdogs doesn't exactly match the criteria of "elegance" that should have been part of an event like this. While I realize that this is aired all over the country and unlike Las Vegas, many of the theaters aren't in Casinos, surley any hotel with a banquet room can accomodate this with a large movie screen and offer suitable beverage (i.e., champagne) and elegant appetizer service, for an additional cost, which we would have been happy to pay. I am going to pass along my suggestions to the Casino's Marketing Dept. THANK YOU!

The theater was oversold. The sound was turned up much high. We were unable to get four seats together so we had to leave. Very disappointing

There were problems with the transmission and the color was very pale. Still enjoyed it. Always a lot of fun and you really feel like you are a part of the event.

for $20. to see all that great music!! down side was the poor lighting, scenes were colorless. My theater (Edwards, Fresno, Ca) was very cold. Left after 3 hrs, too long, and too cold.I would like to see it without all of the interviews, but hopefully the next production will just be Opera.I will be there.
