This was a fantastic technological achievement. Rene Fleming was superb as was her supporting members of the Metropolitan Opera Company The Five hours passed very quickly as no one left the theater while the performance was on the screen. Even the interviews and insight as to what takes place in the background was very well received. For twenty bucks and popcorn too! How can you beat a night at the Met with full Dolby sound and HD?

The gala was superb. Too bad the colors displayed on the screen were green tinted.

Metropolitan Opera Gala

Once the glitches with the sound (no sound the first 5 minutes) got sorted, it was fine. I enjoyed seeing the divas who were hosting, the art featuring the divas, the interviews with composers and visitors in Times Square and the mayor. Renee Fleming was superb as were the supporting singers. My husband got bit by a black widow spider during the national anthem so we had some anxiety about whether to stay or leave the theater. We stayed, and he is recovering fine, but the theater needs to do a fumigation or something.

The theater was packed...Renee Fleming was superb. Enjoyed the "behind the scenes" reviews, staging, gorgeous costumes and sets. Where else could you hear the best opera singers for such a low price. My husband and I will definately go to every event that is offered.

An absolutely fabulous presentation! Renee Fleming was stunning in all three operatic roles she played. I look forward to the next Metro Opera on-line presentation.
