Being able to see grand opera like this is just the greatest thing since sliced white bread! The sound, the picture, and knowing it's LIVE from the MET is totally outstanding. I do hope this gets to be popular enough that you'll keep going! This is something for everyone to enjoy! Please, please, please keep showing these special events!

I loved the Met. The movie theater had a bit of trouble getting started - the sound system was uneven and the subtitles did not come on riight away.

Met Opera HD Opening Night

Unfortunately, the broadcast in Theater 8 at the Regal Cinema Union Square in NYC, was not as advertised - and when we (many separate people) complained to the manager, they admitted that they knew it, but that's where the broadcasts were going to be - and too bad! The broadcast was very dark and indistinct. This isn't a real HD projection, although they're selling it as one. The Met Opera says they are looking into this problem, and hope to have it solved by the next broadcast. Until we can be certain that the Met has accomplished something, I strongly suggest that you support other theaters - not this one. There was no pleasure in seeing this broadcast.

Met Opening Night

I chiefly dislike your advertising HD projection and not delivering it at Union Square. The picture was dark and undetailed. Not the heightened clarity of HD. That all the good seats were filled by 5:30 was appalling to me, with one woman holding 5 seats for her latecomer friends. Renee Fleming and the Mexican tenor were superb. Neither Susan Fleming nor Debbie Voight are capable to doing intermission fodder. Their hairdoes were equally atrocious. KEN GEIST, NYC
