This was a fantastic production. Everything about the work was stunning, singing, acting, sets, etc.. The work was mesmerizing and there was never a let up in the intensity of the production. Joyce DeDonato was incredible as Maria Stuarda. What an incredible voice both as a coloratura and as a bel canto singer. The debut of the soprano playing Elizabeth was also great.

The experience was fabulous. The production was outstanding. I am not a fan of the Donizetti style to portray the dark story of these two queens. I enjoyed the live feed and backstage view. It was worth every penny.

I went for Joyce DiDonato whom I was blown away by in her role as Sycorax in The Enchanted Island...much to my delight, Matthew Polenzani whom I saw perform with Ana Netrebko in L'Elisir d'Amore also performs. He is fantastic and very easy on the eyes I must say! Back to Joyce whom in my opinion, is brilliant...she does not disappoint as Mary, Queen of Scots nor does the South African, Elza van den Heever who makes her Met debut as Elizabeth I. The sets and costume designs are absolutely gorgeous!
