Excellent performance! Love having HD Live available. Theater way too cold as always! One woman, who knows opera and goes always, brings hand warmers to the theater!

Les Troyens by Berlioz Met LIVE in HD

Superb performances of a relatively rarely performed opera at the Met. The opportunity to view this opera LIVE in HD is very much appreciated. The HD production was about as perfect as one could imagine.

We thoroughly enjoyed Les Troyens!

There was a point in the show when there was so much roaring noise from an adjacent theater that we could hardly hear our opera. The manager did, I think, turn down the sound in the other theater when someone complained. Also, the sound was "flat" and did not sound as if we were getting surround sound. We were unsure if that was the transmission or the theater. However, we are so glad you continue to bring these shows to your theater!

Les Troyens

It was worth every minute of this 5 1/2 hour opera. It had everything: romance, drama, tragedy, revenge. Berlioz' music was transcendent and the performances outstanding. Lots of ballet in the opera; lots of people didn't like that, but I thought that the staging made it move the action along. It was like an added bonus. Definitely worth seeing.

A rare opera, done brilliantly

I have vaguely intended to see “Les Troyens” ever since I encountered a description of it in my father’s old Kobbe, but this was the first chance I had. I generally don’t care much for French opera, but Berlioz is a much more interesting composer than most—after all, he was one of the very, very few who could make even Wagner sit up and pay attention. My wife and I found this performance brilliant. If we had any complaint, it was that it was too dark—but life-from-the-Met videos always have been, whether on broadcast or when done by Fathom. There’s only so much that can be done to adapt a stage production for the camera.
